The 2016 Japanese tea ceremony conference, Chanoyu on the second and fourth Wednesday of April. Chanoyu refers to be the “Way of Tea” in Japanese, and recognises the tea ceremony as a comprehensive form of art, hospitality and spiritual pursuit. It will feature presentations by two experts: Dr. Angus Lockyer will give a lecture in terms of its historical, cultural and political aspects for the first session. Mis Shapley will perform the tea ceremony for the next session.

Occur every month on the first Monday, March 20/ April 3/ May 1, 2017

Work with other teachers and SIA educator to explore ways of enlivening the classroom using exhibtion object as teaching tools. Prepare for your upcoming school group visit to exhibition. Our workshops typically feature a slide presentation by our curator members.

This small japanese tea ceremony begans by removing shoes and quietly sitting on pillows in a circle with choosing the right kinds of tea, and brewing the leaves, using the right tea sets at the right environment.
